I have a dental emergency. What do I do?
A:
The short answer is, call us. Putting off needed dental care, particularly if you’re in pain or a tooth has broken or been knocked out, is the worst thing you can do. We’re often able to get you in the same day for an emergency appointment. But rest assured – even if you call after hours, you’ll reach Dr. Pablo Cuevas, and he will tell you what you need to do until he can see you.

Do you see young children?
A:
We prefer to wait until your child is about 15 years old before establishing routine dental cleanings here at our office, but we are here to help you figure out what is best for your family, no matter their ages. Simply give us a call at 203-349-3537 or ask us about your options at your next appointment. We can’t wait to get to know your entire family.
-
Are Custom Mouthguards Better Than Store-Bought Mouthguards?
A:
Yes, they really are! A custom mouthguard is made using impressions of your teeth, so it fits much better than any store-bought mouthguard. You won’t need a frustrating boil-and-bite process to adjust the fit before the first wear. With a custom fit, your mouthguard will be so comfortable you won’t be tempted to skip wearing it.

How can I stay safe from Coronavirus during my dentist visit?
A:
We have always worked diligently to protect our patients from the spread of disease, but COVID-19 presents a new set of challenges that we are more than prepared to face! You can see the new protocols we have in place to ensure the safety of our patients and team members. If you are in a high-risk category and would like more specific details, please give us a call so that we can discuss your needs and concerns.
-
How often should I get a dental cleaning and exam?
A:
We recommend getting your teeth cleaned and examined every six months. Biannual visits will keep your teeth and gums in good shape. It will also give your dentist a chance to discover any problems while they are small and easily treatable. Plus, exams give us a good opportunity to discuss your smile challenges and goals with you.

Can You Help Me Feel Less Anxious About Dental Appointments?
A:
Our office has a welcoming atmosphere, with amenities like a beverage bar in our waiting room and heated treatment chairs. If that’s not enough to relax you, you can also receive safe dental sedation. Choose laughing gas for a light level of relaxation or IV sedation for a deeply relaxed state. IV sedation is especially helpful if you’re undergoing lengthy or multiple procedures.
-
Can You Help Me Get the Beautiful Smile I’ve Always Wanted?
A:
We offer many cosmetic dentistry procedures so you can achieve your smile vision. Your many options include dental veneers, teeth whitening, tooth bonding, gum reshaping, and teeth contouring. The best way to determine which services are right for you is with a free cosmetic dentistry consultation.
-
Do You Offer Orthodontics for Adults?
A:
We offer orthodontics for all ages. All of them are less conspicuous than traditional metal braces, and some of them are especially appropriate for adult smiles. You can choose treatment with orthodontic aligners, clear ceramic braces, or Six Month Smiles, a system that works quickly by focusing mostly on the teeth that show when you smile. Dr. Cuevas will help you select the orthodontic treatment that will work best for you.

What Are My Options for Replacing Missing Teeth?
A:
With Dr. Pablo Cuevas’s training and extensive experience with prosthodontics, you have many teeth replacement options. Using different dental restorations, you can replace anywhere from a single tooth to all your teeth using dental implants. It’s even possible to get implants and a complete set of replacement teeth all in one day! If implants aren’t for you, you can choose traditional dentures or dental bridges instead. Dental implants consultations are free.
